Village Life and Well Dressings
We invite you to visit Bonsall, an ancient Derbyshire village with a rich history dating back to the Roman occupation (lead mining), through the civil wars, the agricultural revolution and industrial revolutions to the modern day where its population still engages with the fine traditions of the past. You will take part in the production of a traditional well dressing and learn how to puddle and petal. You will take part in the festivities of village carnival week and we will arrange a programme of walks and visits to places of local interest for your enjoyment.
(5 days: 24th – 28th July, 30th July – 3rd August 2008).
