Script Writing and Film Making

You will be instructed in the art of script writing and film making by local film Director Nick Whitfield (Skeletons and Rebecca). This course will be taught in the context of a workshop. Further details to follow.

This two day course will explore basic principles of writing for the cinema. You will learn the broad principles that will hopefully make that first blank page a little less terrifying. You will will study the structure of a screen play, and put the knowledge you've learned to work, looking at two existing films and seeing how they are constructed.

Nick Whitfield our tutor has worked for many years as an actor in theatre, film and TV. He now concentrates on writing and directing TV scripts, and short films which have been seen on Channel 4 and the BBC. He is currently working on a full length feature film.
