Nordic Walking
Nordic walking was invented by the Finnish cross country ski team in the 1930’s as an off-season training method and is one of the fastest growing recreational sports in the UK. It is specifically designed to engage the upper body during fitness walking and produces a 20% increase in the consumption of energy over normal walking, but with the benefit of reducing the load on knees and other joints.
Ideal for novices who want to learn the technique from scratch and for more experienced walkers who will enjoy long walks on different types of terrain through the Peak District countryside.
