Dry Stone Walling

This practical course provides an introduction to the ancient craft of dry stone walling. You will be taught how to strip down a limestone wall (and understand it’s construction); grade the stone; reset the foundations; build the first lift with the correct placing of through stones and complete the second lift with the correct placing of coping stones. This is a practical course and you will require old, warm, waterproof clothing, together with strong boots, work gloves, a hat and sun protection cream.

Ideal for those interested in conservation or who simply want to undertake their own stonework repairs at home in the garden.
