Derbyshire Gardens
This holiday will take you on a whistle stop tour of some of the most beautiful and spectacular gardens on offer in Derbyshire. On the first day you will be guided around the extensive gardens at Chatsworth House (recently shown in the film Pride and Prejudice), followed in the late afternoon by a tour of the gardens at Thornbridge Hall, near Ashford in the Water (in private hands and not accessible to the general public). On the second day you will be taken on a guided tour of the gardens at Rennishaw Hall, home of the Sitwell family, followed by a visit in the afternoon to Haddon Hall (recently shown in the BBC’s adaptation of Jane Eyre), which has arguably the most beautiful walled garden in the country
(2 days: 12th-13th June 2008).
